- Licensed Electrical Journeyman
- Licensed Master Electrician
- Experience working with transformers and switchgears
- Includes: Traction Power Technician, Substation Engineer, Relay Engineer/Technician, Groundman, Electrical-Industrial Journeyman, Electrical Testing & Commissioning Specialist
- Excludes: Lineman, Power Line Technician, Journeyman Lineman, Line Installers and Repairers, unassigned lineman (UAL), Line Mechanic
- General Inspection with some Electrical Experience – skid packages, definable experience with electrical
- Source Inspectors of Fixed or Rotating Equipment with Electrical Experience
Certification Process
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to take the API SIEE exam. This certification validates your expertise in electrical equipment inspection and is recognized across industries. Key details of the certification process include:
- Prequalification is required to sit for the exam.
- The API SIEE certification is valid for a three-year term.
Exam Information
The API SIEE exam consists of 110 questions, of which 100 are scored. The exam duration is 3.25 hours, and it is closed-book. Pretest questions are included but not scored. Detailed preparation guidelines, including recommended API documents and standards, are provided to help you excel in the exam.
